Rwanda and Botswana signed six agreements in various sectors, following talks between the heads of state of the two countries aimed at strengthening cooperation.

The agreement was signed in Botswana on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, by President Kagame, who was on a working visit, and his counterpart from the country, Duma Boko.

The agreements signed by both parties include the elimination of double taxation between citizens of the two countries, the abolition of visas for citizens, air transport, and cooperation in the health sector.

Also signed were agreements on cooperation between the Botswana Investment and Trade Agency and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB). These aim to promote investment cooperation and promote the private sector between the two countries.

The two countries also agreed on cooperation agreements in the fields of trade and economy.

President Kagame stressed that all these agreements signed must produce tangible changes in the lives of the people of both countries, as they are the true indicators of a partnership that benefits the people.
