
The Chief of Staff of the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF), Gen Mubarakh Muganga, on Tuesday presided over the closing ceremony of the training given to the 08th Land Forces Brigade, which took place at the Military Training Centre in Nasho, Kirehe District.
The four-month training focused on sharpening the troops’ readiness, enhancing their skills in leading and monitoring the conduct of soldiers, and improving combat tactics.
Gen MK Mubarakh congratulated the graduates of the training and conveyed to them a message from the President of the Republic of Rwanda and Commander-in-Chief of the Rwanda Defence Forces, His Excellency Paul Kagame.
In the message, the President commended the ongoing work being done by the RDF and other security agencies, and particularly congratulated the soldiers who completed the training today. He reminded them that continuous training is the key pillar that keeps the RDF operating professionally.
Gen MK Mubarakh stressed that the advanced training of the Rwanda Defence Forces plays a vital role in preparing soldiers to effectively carry out their duties and effectively deal with new security challenges that may arise.
He also noted that, apart from technical knowledge and skills and military tactics, this training also instilled in them core values including military ethics, professionalism and the integrity of their duties, all in line with the principles governing the RDF.
The Chief of Defence Staff urged the soldiers to make good use of the new knowledge they have acquired in military operations and to continue to be characterized by good conduct and courtesy, in order to better carry out their daily duties.
